Pictures
My pictures are located on my Flickr account. I add new pictures frequently. They're not all of me. I use my Flickr account to upload pictures for my blog entries.
One reader suggested that I link pictures of Stuyvesant High School since I went there. Good idea.

| I recorded music from age 13 to age 22. I played bass and some guitar (although I could never play chords). I occasionally sang. |
|
I wrote this when I was working at my parents' office.

Mangled NOFX cover. Owen from Teen Angst is singing.

Author Kiersten White interviews me about The Other Normals at Comic-Con 2012. This was a really fun interview, even though I told a whole story about streaking at summer camp that got cut!

It's Kind of a Funny Story Theatrical Interpretation
In March 2010, Oak Lawn Community High School put on a theatrical performance of It's Kind of a Funny Story called a "Group Interp," or "Group Interpretation" project. They used the text of the book but presented it with a Greek chorus. Very cool and inventive stuff!

says: Reading your book was weird and thrilling at the same time. This is pretty much how my brain works like (except for the suicidal thoughts, you nailed it)
Favorite part: all of it.
Thank you

says: I am a huge fan of your books specifically Be More Chill as it was the first of your books I read and quite possibly one of the best books I have ever read. And I just wanted to add in here I read The Other Normals recently and thought it was amazing.

Wiggy
says: read your quote about waking up into a nightmare on the internet today. theres so [much] bulls___ about depression to be found on the internet today but i identified immediately and completely with the quote. that 10 seconds as you're waking up when all the bad ___t in your life loads back in your brain. its like putting a flash drive with a bunch of viruses into a computer. i have no idea who you are but i figured id let you know you affected someone today. people find that important, right?

Brooke
of CA
says: Here's my Camp Chewonki story, shared as an entry in #TheOtherNormals Camp Mortification Hashtag Contest:
"Just before starting 7th grade, my class went to camp Chewonki for 10 days to bond and whatever before school started. So there we were sitting in a circle cross-legged probably taking part in some sort of useless icebreaker conversation. Midway thru the exercise, one of the counselors gets up, approaches me, asks me to stand up and walk away from the group. I do, and she says, “Brooke, it appears you have gotten your period. Is this the first time?” It was not but I lied and said it was because how could I have not noticed? Or did I notice but was too embarrassed to ask for help? It wasn’t just a tiny little speck of a stain. It was like a torrential downpour in my pants. Like sharks ate my pelvis. At least that’s how my traumatized memory remembers things. #PTSD #TheOtherNormals"
Brooke won a free signed hardcover of The Other Normals for sharing her story!

Feast your eyes and ears on this recap of the squip campaign, 2004-2005, which was created to promote Be More Chill. This video is dedicated to all of the readers who helped spread the word about the book. Thank you!
|

This chapter of Be More Chill, which goes into explicit detail about what Jeremy does on the internet, was included in the first draft of the book but taken out (wisely) by my editor. Here it is for those who are curious.
